| FONT ROMEAU.... Is the French National Altitude Training Centre, home to many of the french national teams but also numerous others such as the Spanish Triathlon Team and the New Zealand Duathlon Team. Its facilities create an ideal all inclusive training centre for the serious athlete wishing to avoid temptations (it is quite a distance to the nearest bar and night club), however you could be sharing training facilities with Paula Radcliffe or Leanda Cave and cycling on the same roads used in this years Tour de France. ) This is a all inclusive altitude training centre that feeds you waters you and trains you. *********************************************************************************************************************************
There are no options
for either half board or bed and breakfast: Per extra day the charge is
45 pounds per person. This charge includes all meals but does not include
the transfers to or from an airport (Perpignan is the nearest being 110km
away). It does however include a fully qualified coach and absolutely all
training/coaching for the week (for groups of four and above). | Typical weeks
training.... "this schedule is provided as a guide to the type of sessions you can expect during an all inclusive weeks stay. In practice a tailor made programme is discussed and agreed for each group so we can best match your particuar training objectives". Day One... Airport pickup and transfer to Font Romeau. Introduction and site tour of Font Romeau. Followed by bike assembly/set up and dinner 6.00pm: Talk about the coming weeks training plan 7.30pm: Hike to the bar for those who need to hydrate themselves before the training commences Day Two... 7.00am: Swim session (stroke analysis time) 8.30am: Breakfast 10.00am: 2 hour bike to introduce you to the local terrain 12.30pm: Lunch and siesta 3.00pm: Time for a 45min run into the forest before relaxing with a jacuzzi/sauna session before dinner 6.00pm: Dinner 7.00pm: Individual feedback from the swimming analysis Day Three... 7.30am: Breakfast 8.30am: Depart for 3 hour bike seeing the sights 12.30pm: Lunch followed by a siesta 2.00pm: Gym session (core stability, and stretching) 3.30pm: 1.30hr pool swim 6.00pm: Dinner Day Four... 7.30am: 30min pre breakfast run 8.00am: Breakfast 10.00am: 2 hour swim session 12.00pm: Lunch 3.00pm: Relaxation session in the gym 4.00pm: Bike/run session ("Brick") 6.00pm: Dinner |
Day Five... 7.00am: 1hr Easy swim session 8.00am: Breakfast 9-12am: Relax in Font Romeu shopping 2.00pm: Bike 3 hrs steady 6.00pm: Dinner 7.00pm: Hike for a beer or two(if Day Six... 8.00am: Breakfast 9.30am: Easy bike 1.30hrs 11.00am: 1 hour track session 12.30pm: Lunch 3.00pm: 1 hour swim 2nd individual swim analysis 5.00pm: Dinner followed by packing the bikes away 6.00pm: Idividual feedback from 2nd swim analysis 7.00pm: Drink Day Seven... 7.00am: Easy swim or run 8.00am: Breakfast 10.00am: Depart for the airport
