Chantal Kibbey Wins 2 Golds And A Bronze

Our in-house sports massage therapist Chantal Kibbey finished the 2016 pool season with a strong performance at the Catalan Masters Championships in Barcelona, swimming in the 35-39 age category.

The event took place at the club natacio sabadell, Barcelona.

50m Butterfly

Chantal’s strongest performance came in the 50m Butterfly. Not only did she win a gold medal but she also posted a PB of 34.68 min.

50m And 100m Freestyle

Chantal also performed well in the 50m freestyle, winning gold but just missing out on a PB. She completed the weekend’s events with a very good bronze medal in the 100m freestyle, competing in a very strong field.

Rest And Recuperation

Chantal now plans to take it easy for the rest of the summer before embarking on another twelve month training cycle with Richard Laidlow. ‘Richard’s been great throughout the season with his advice and support’, said Chantal.

Taking it easy doesn’t mean stopping completely of course, and she’ll be swimming with us on our Summer Swim Sessions here in Amélié-les-Bains (article in French) whenever she gets a chance.
